The Mainly 5 Spare Parts of Slurry Pump

A slurry pump is a type of centrifugal pump designed to move Suspended solids, such as particles of sand and gravel, through a liquid medium. The design of the pump allows it to increase pressure so that the slurry can be moved large distances or up vertical inclines. Slurry pumps are typically used in dredging, mining and mineral processing applications. Additionally, they are commonly used in wastewater treatment operations. Here is the spare parts of Slurry Pump.

·Impeller

The impeller is a rotating component that pushes the liquid forward and out of the volute. The component can be made from hard-wearing materials like chrome alloy steel or softer materials such as flexible rubber to help reduce wear and tear on the other pump parts.

·Volute Liner

Volute liner is an important wetted end parts of slurry pumps ,and slurry pump volute basic part number is 110. It forms a slurry pump chamber with slurry pump throat bush and slurry pump frame plate liner insert where the slurry would flow through them. The main purposes of a volute casing is to help balance the hydraulic pressure on the shaft of the slurry pump.

·Frame Plate Insert and Throat Bush

Frame Plate:It connects with Frame plate liner insert and beside the Bearing assembly. Same as the cover plate, Frame plate also bear the pressure of pump cavity. The working pressure of slurry pump is decided by the loading capability of frame plate, So the right materials of slurry pump frame plate is very important.

Throat Bush:It links plate liner and forms a Pump chamber to work with impeller, as one of wetted parts for the slurry pump, Its wear-resistance is very important to pump worklife. we offers Cr27Mo high chrome alloy which is high abrasion resistance, and maintenance simplified by the use of tapered mating faces to allow positive accurate alignment during assembly and simple removal.

·Shaft

The shaft is a metal rod that connects the impeller to the motor or engine. This component is typically made of high-strength materials such as stainless steel to withstand the high stresses and torque generated by a powerful slurry pump.

·Expeller seals,Mechanical seals,Gland packing

There are 3 seals for slurry pump.

Expeller seals:An improvement on gland packing, this is where a rotary expeller (often combined with pump-out vanes on the back of the impeller) reduces the hydraulic pressure at the shaft by pushing the liquid away from it.

Mechanical seals:A mechanical seal consists of two parts, one section is fixed to the shaft, the other fixed to the stationary pump housing. The interface of these two components is the mechanical seal. One of the sections will be fixed in place, while the other will be pushed up to it using a spring-loaded fixing.

Gland packing:this is the traditional type of seal for centrifugal slurry pumps. Soft, rope-like packing, known as the packing gland, is packed around the shaft-sleeve

A slurry pump is a type of pump designed for pumping liquid containing solid particles. Slurry pumps are widely used in mining, metallurgy, coal washing, power plants, sewage water treatment, dredging, and chemical and petroleum industries.
